Mr. Harold Crocker (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Harold Crocker, 75, of Jackson Avenue, North Augusta, who died June 27, 2002, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m., from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, Rev. Jimmy Coyle officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Mr. Crocker was a native of Poplarville Miss., having made North Augusta his home for the past 36 years. He was a Baptist and was a retired letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service as well as a retired MSGT in the United States Army with 20 years of service. Mr. Crocker was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Mr. Crocker was a life member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post No. 71, a life member of the VFW, and a member of Voltaire No. 1177 of the 40 & 8. In addition Mr. Crocker was a volunteer with the Senior Fitness Program, North Augusta Parks and Recreation Department, V.A. Hospital volunteer and member of the Salt Team of North Augusta and a member of the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Roberts Crocker; one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Pam Crocker of Martinez; one daughter, Betty Ann Crocker, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Paul J. Crocker, Picayune, Miss. and Benny Crocker, Enterprise, Ala.; two sisters, Wanda Synder, Sellersburg, Ind. and Jane Burge, Hattiesburg, Miss.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Brant Crocker, Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post No. 71, the John C. Calhoun Sunday School Class and Star Promenaders Square Dance Club. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 7 to 9p.m. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 615 Old Edgefield Road, North Augusta, SC 29841; A.L.S.
