Activities and entertainment events scheduled for this week include:

TODAY FLY-FISHING SEMINAR: Rivers and Glen Trading Co. in Surrey Center is offering a free seminar of fly fishing the Bahamas for bonefish, tarpon and permit. Guide Richard Stuhr will be the guest speaker. For more information, call 738-4536.

FIREWORKS FESTIVAL: The Aiken Jaycees Fairgrounds will hold a fireworks festival from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event will feature an arts and crafts show, fireworks demonstrations, food, carnival rides and live entertainment on two stages. BALLROOM DANCE PARTY: The Augusta Elks Lodge will hold a ballroom dance party at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge, off Furys Ferry Road in Martinez. Tango lessons begin at 7:30 p.m., and the dance will be from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets cost $10 per person. For more information, call 414-6381.

TOM SAWYER: The Children's Wing of the Augusta Players will finish their production of Tom Sawyer with a performance at 7:30 p.m. in the rotunda of the Augusta Museum of History, 560 Reynolds St. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger. BARK IN THE PARK: The Bark in the Park Family Fun Day, a family and canine celebration, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Augusta-Richmond County's Diamond Lakes Park, 4335 Windsor Spring Road. Planned activities include arts and crafts, pet competitions and family fun events. Proceeds will benefit Augusta South Rotary Club's Student Program and animal needs in the community.
