EDGEFIELD, S.C. - William C. "Bill" Shaffer, 69, of Hwy. 278 East, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2002, at McKendree United Methodist Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Shaffer was a native of Edgefield County and a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Jamil Shrine Temple and he was a Retired salesman. Survivors include his wife, Mary Quarles Shaffer; a daughter, Nancy Daniel, Edgefield; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Jeff Boyleston, Aiken, daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Jack Stokes, Elgin, S.C.; a son, George Shaffer, Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Paula Shaffer, West Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Melvin Shaffer Jr., Edgefield; grandchildren, Carey Davis, Donnie McKinney Jr., FC 3 Ralph Long Jr., Amy Davis-Kirkland, William Long, Whitney Shaffer, Jack Stokes, Matthew Shaffer, Strickland Shaffer, Mary Shaffer; one great-grandchild, Allie Davis. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to McKendree United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
