Pitcher Lopez back on DL, Spooneybarger recalled

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves placed right-handed pitcher Albie Lopez on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with tendinitis in his pitching shoulder.

Lopez, who lost to the New York Mets 7-4 Tuesday, is 1-4 with a 5.01 ERA. He also spent 15 days on the disabled list in April.

The Braves recalled right-hander Tim Spooneybarger to replace Lopez on the roster. Spooneybarger was 0-0 with a 3.50 ERA in 19 games with the Braves before being sent to Triple-A Richmond on May 10, where he was 1-0 with 11 saves and a 0.90 ERA in 18 games.

The moves were retroactive to Wednesday.
