AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, June 24, 2002, at her sons residence, Elaine Marion Hanrahan Hoyt, 79, of Plantation Road, Martinez. Family members include her daughters, Holly C. Miller of Atlanta and Nora E. Dukes of Washington, Ga.; sons, Dennis J. Hoyt of Evans, Bryan M. Hoyt of Augusta, Mark D. Hoyt of Martinez and Dale R. Hoyt of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 27, 2002, at 3 p.m., at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Father Thomas J. Peyton celebrant. The family will receive friends at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Wednesday evening, June 26, 2002, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., a vigil service will follow the visitation. Mrs. Hoyt was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on May 30, 1923. She attended St. James Elementary School and Mount Saint Josephs High School in Buffalo. She married Raymond James Hoyt on June 12, 1943, at St. James Church in Buffalo. Mrs. Hoyt was actively involved with womens organizations while a member of St. Clements in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She served as the Ways and Means chair and as the president of the Ladies Auxiliary for one year. At St. Teresa of Avila in Augusta she gave the most of her time and talent as lector, eucharistic minister and president of the Ladies Auxiliary for two years. She also served as the president of the Diocese of Savannah Deanery Auxiliary for two years and a Religious Education Coordinator for 18 years. Memorials may be made to Parkinsons Association, P.O.
