NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Joan Callaham Evans, beloved wife of Mr. A. Gary Evans, of Village Parkway, North Augusta, joined her Heavenly Father on June 24, 2002. Mrs. Evans was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Martintown Road Chapter of the DAR. A native of Seneca, Mrs. Evans and her husband have resided in North Augusta for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Callaham, Seneca, and her sister, Marjorie C. Littlefield, Landrum. Survivors additional to her husband include a son, Gregory G. Evans, Jesup; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon E. and Brad Chastain, Westminister; four grandchildren, Kasey Evans, Kelley Evans, Lindsay Chastain and Jordan Chastain; two sisters, Beth C. Chatfield, Thomaston, and Mary C. and her husband Hartis Mullins, Charlotte, N.C.; three nephews; several great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10a.m. from the Fairview Presbyterian Church. Dr. William R. Johnston and Dr. Michael Andrews officiating. Interment in the Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, at 4p.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
