I guess living in the South we have a little more respect for tradition than most of our friends from New York. I was shocked to hear the galleries conducting themselves as if the U.S. Open was a football game. I suppose times are indeed changing.
Even at the Masters tournament you can occasionally hear someone remark, "You da man." I guess one could call the New York approach to the U.S. Open as "bush league from Flatbush."
This is just one ol' country boy's observation, but maybe there is something to the old saying that "ignorance is bliss."
