AUGUSTA, Ga.- Entered into rest Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Saint Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Pearlie O. Wilkes, of Camak Drive. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, 2002, at 1p.m., at Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Alton Pegues, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. She was a native of Mississippi and moved to Bessemer, Ala., at an early age. She was a member of Pettys Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Bessemer, where she served as a member of the Stewardess Board, and the 18th Street Club. Survivors are one son, Marvin Wilkes Jr., Boston, Mass; two granddaughters, Marvina Wilkes, Boston, Renee (Michael) Horton, Augusta; four great-grandchildren, Maxx, Michael Wesley, Renee and Gabriel; one sister, Ruby Miller, Bessemer; two brothers, Clinton OBannon, Philadelphia, and Willie James OBannon, Cambridge, Mass; brother-in-law, Benjamin Miller Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Irene OBannon, Cambridge and Nora Wilkes, Bessemer; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home this evening from 7 to 8p.m. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King Jr., Boulevard.
