HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Taylor Johnson, 78, of Church Street, entered into rest Monday, June 10, 2002, at University Hospital, Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 4p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at DeLoach Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Matthews, officiating. Interment will be in Hephzibah Vance Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson, a native of Jefferson County, Matthews, lived most of her adult life in Burke County. She was a retired merchant who owned and operated convenience stores in both Jefferson and Burke Counties. Survivors include one sister, Clara Belle T. Braswell, Hephzibah; two grandchildren, Kimberly Dailey, Hephzibah, and Kevin Dailey, Hephzibah; a number of nephews. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her daughter, Dora Lee Dailey, in October, 1999. Pallbearers will be James Taylor, Eddie Dailey, Randy Taylor, Sterling Bugg, Bob Matthews Jr., Bob Crosby, Richard McElmurray. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9p.m., Wednesday at DeLoach Funeral Homes, Inc., 2546 Ga. Hwy. 88, Hephzibah, GA. (706)592-5000.
