Mrs. Selma Harris (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Selma S. Harris of Augusta, widow of William H. Harris. She was a native of Swainsboro, and had lived in Augusta since 1958. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Dr. Gordon L. Robinson officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mrs. Harris will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Faith Sunday School Class at the church. She served in the civil service during World War II. Family members include four sons, Glenn D. Harris of Evans, William Eugene Harris of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary W. Harris of Aiken, S.C. and Mark S. Harris of Augusta; a daughter, Mary Anne Harris of Evans; grandchildren, Michelle S. Harris, DVM, Lithia Springs, Ga., Angela Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Melody Morrison of North Carolina, Chris Brown of Aiken, Quinn A. Harris of North Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Regan, Ashley and Michael Morrison, Jessica and Nicole Jones; two sisters, Virginia Hicks of Statesboro and Betty Malott of Savannah. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. If so desired, please make memorial contributions to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3045 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
