Reparations are due. They are due first and foremost to the American Indians, the indigenous people of this continent. The Europeans drove them out of their native land. Indians are still viewed as savages in Western movies when, in truth, they were only protecting themselves and their homeland.
Second, reparations are due to black Americans who can prove their lineage to slaves. Slaves had an enormous part in building this country and after 400 years of free labor, payment is due. America gives out billions in economic aid to Third World countries which misuse the funds and never improve their social or financial well-being. Oftentimes countries' so-called leaders line their pockets with the money.
America did right by giving reparations to Japanese-Americans. America should do right by all her people.
