ALLENDALE, S.C. - Miss Drue Williams, died Thursday evening at University Hospital in Augusta after an extended illness. She was 81. Miss Williams was born in Allendale County, July 4, 1920, a daughter of the late Norman Williams and Louise Locke Williams. Miss Williams was retired from the Carolina Commercial Bank where she was vice president and still serving on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Allendale First Baptist Church where she was serving on the Budget Committee. Miss Williams also raised her four sisters after her parents passed away. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Reece and Joyce Brewer both of Allendale; Mrs. Norma Lee Smith of Fairfax and Mrs. Helen Knopf of Jacksonville, Fla. There are four nephews and two nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., at the Allendale First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Swallow Savannah Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allendale First Baptist Church. Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.
