COLUMBIA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mary Poston "Jimmye" Haynes, 78, of Columbia, will be held noon Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Eau Claire Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Fred S. Miller and Dr. Flynn T. Harrell. Interment will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., this Tuesday evening in Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Eau Claire Baptist Church, 4427 North Main Street, Columbia, SC 29203. Pallbearers will be Chris, Darin, Lawrence and Kevin Haynes, Alex Rimer, Billy Thibodeau and Keith Derusso. Honorary pallbearers will be Scripture Gleamers Sunday School Class and the Janice Wilson Bible Study Group with the Eau Claire Baptist Church. Mrs. Haynes, widow of Guy Henry Haynes Jr., died Monday, May 6, 2002, in the Lowman Home where she had resided for the last five months. Born in Anderson, S.C., she was a daughter of the late B.W. and Pansy Davis Poston. Mrs. Haynes was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and choir; she taught pre-school in the church for 36 years, was a member of the Scripture Gleamers Sunday School Class and the Janice Wilson Bible Study Group. Mrs. Haynes retired as secretary and bookkeeper in the food brokerage industry. Survivors are son Robert "Bobby" G. Haynes and his wife Debbie of Chapin; daughter, Cathy Haynes Rimer of Aiken; grandchildren, Chris Haynes and wife Sheila of Irmo, Darin Haynes and wife Kim of James Island, Lisa Rimer Thibodeau and husband Billy of Edgefield, Alex Rimer and wife Tonya of North Augusta; eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. The family would life to express their gratitude for the care given by the staff of Adria Wing of The Lowman Home.
