LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Mrs. Willie Eva McClenehan Brown entered into rest on Friday, May 3, 2002, at the Centinella Hospital, Inglewood, Calif. Mrs. Brown was a native of Augusta, and was baptized at an early age by the Rev. R.C. Calhoun at the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was educated in the public schools of Richmond County. She moved to California in early 1956, where she remained until her death. She met and married George H. Brown who proceeded her in death. She was an active member of the Christ Community Baptist Church, where the Rev. Clarence C. Herron is the pastor. A memorial service will be held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 8, 2002. Funeral services will be held in Augusta on Saturday, May 11, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church, where the Rev. Dr. Gregory M. Fuller is the pastor. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Georgene (Hosea) Evans, Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Walker, Mrs. Thelma (McDonald) Williams, and Mrs. Juanita (Walter) Chavous; one brother, Dea. Miller (Julia Mae) Ashley, all of Augusta; two aunts, Orena Williams, Aiken and Catherine Williams, Augusta; and one uncle, Nondrus Williams, Aiken; one sister-in-law, Lee Versie Adgerson; a devoted cousin who loved and cared so much for her, Albert (Ida) Williams, Wilma, Calif.; ten nephews, ten nieces, two stepnieces, one stepnephew; many grandnieces, cousins and loving friends.
