Annika Sorenstam, the LPGA Tour's leading money-winner, has officially committed to play in next week's Asahi Ryokuken International Championship at Mount Vintage Plantation Golf Club.
The LPGA tournament is scheduled for May 16-19 at the Edgefield County, S.C., course. Tournament officials announced her decision to play this weekend.
Sorenstam, who has earned $566,242 in six events, has two victories this season, including a win in the Nabisco Championship.
In the rain-plagued, 36-hole Chick-Fil-A in Stockbridge, Ga., Sorenstam finished 11 strokes behind winner Juli Inkster.
A full field of 144 players is scheduled to compete in the $1.25 million event, which is the seventh largest purse on the LPGA tour.
