CSM Conrad Stone (MARTINEZ, Ga.)



MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest May 3, 2002, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon. Retired Command Sergeant Major Conrad Grady Stone, age 74, husband of the late Edith Margot Stone. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Platts Belair Road Chapel, withe interment at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with full military honors. A native of Bassett, Va., Henry County, he was a Mason and a member of American Legion Post 205. His career in the Army spanned 29 years of service, retiring in 1975. He was a Purple Heart recipient from the battle of Pork Chop Hill, North Korea, in 1953. He is survived by one daughter, Debra Maria White of Augusta; one brother Buren S. Stone of Collinsville, husband of the late Dorothy Stone; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice S. and John V. Shenal of Richmond, Lois S. and John B. Crostic of Richmond, Patricia S. and Earl R. Eaton of Winston Salem, N.C. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis J. Stone, husband of Frances Stone of Bassett, and Adron I. Stone, husband of Maxine Stone of Collinsville; one sister, Cornelia S. Smith and her late husband Carl Smith, Martinsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Platts Funeral Home, 337 N. Belair Road, Evans, Ga. 860-6166.
