Tracy Thorpe, Charleston Alley Cats

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound right-hander went 2-0 in two starts, including eight shutout innings for a win over the Jackets April 25. In 14 innings, the Blue Jays' 11th-round draft pick in 2000 allowed no runs, seven hits and three walks while striking out 11.

SAL BATTER OF THE WEEK

Tony Mongeluzzo, Savannah Sand Gnats

Mongeluzzo, a 16th-round pick by the Rangers in 2000, ended the Sand Gnats' 13-game skid in style by becoming the second player in SAL history to hit four home runs in a game April 20 at Asheville. The Long Island, N.Y. native batted .391 with five homers and 10 RBI for the week.
