Kids Crusade

HarvestPoint United Pentecostal Church, 2020 Sibley Road, will open its annual Kids Crusade at 7:30 tonight and continue at 10 a.m. Sunday.


In 1952, inhabitants of Ellenton were forced to relocate after boundaries for the Savannah River Site encompassed their town.First Baptist Church, 400 Third St. in Jackson, was started at that time. The congregation will celebrate its 50th anniversary by honoring 17 of the remaining charter members at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Praise at river

The Savannah River and creation will be on Huck Finn's mind during a drama at the Jessye Norman Amphitheater at Riverwalk Augusta at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Nick Sengstacke will lead the Aldersgate United Methodist Church Praise Band in contemporary worship as part of its Night of Praise on the River.

Puppet musical

Unkind words are not allowed on planet Wurdza, the setting for a black-light puppet musical, Outerspace and Innerspace, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 402 Aumond Road, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 11.

Golden Bells

The Golden Bells - Philip Avery, Kenley Beazer, Clifton Hollimon, Julian James, Clinton Jones and Raymond Scarlett - will celebrate 30 years of music at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Paine College Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel.
