BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Thomas Jefferson Trotter, 81, of Brunswick, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. A native of Larue, Texas, Mr. Trotter was a son of the late John Thomas Trotter and Kitty Lenora Petit Trotter. He was raised on a farm in Brooks County, Georgia, as one of 11 children. Tommie Trotter is survived by his wife of 57 years, Odie Aurelia Elliott Trotter. Mr. Trotter served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was in dairy management for two decades and retired from the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation service in 1982. He was a life Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, having taught Sunday school for 55 years. In November 2001, he was honored for his life time commitment to sharing Gods word. Additional survivors include a daughter, Betty Trotter Sharrock of North Augusta and son-in-law, Eric and Carolyn Trotter Ashley of Watkinsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Tom and Nancy Trotter Harrison of Wilton, Calif.; a grandson, Andrew Sharrock of Edgefield, S.C. and four granddaughters, Joy, Lisa and Rebecca Ashley of Watkinsville and Rebecca Harrison of Wilton, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Newman of Pavo and Esther McCraney of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, John Trotter of Barwick. Tommie Trotter is preceded in death by two sons, Mark Randolph Trotter and David Andrew Trotter also two grandsons, Christopher Eric Ashley and William Eric Thomas Ashley. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Brunswick, with Dr. John Connell, Rev. Tom McMillan and Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.
