Mrs. Mattie McCladdie (APPLING, Ga.)

APPLING, Ga. - Entered into rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Doctors Hospital of Augusta. Mrs. Mattie M. McCladdie of Washington Road, Appling. Mrs. McCladdie was a native of Columbia County and a member of Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church of which Rev. Alexander Ingram is pastor. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Knight, Stanford, Conn.; two sons, Horace (Evelyn) McCladdie, Grovetown and Early McCladdie, Appling; two sisters, Mrs. Lutoria Reid, Mrs. Sadie (Clinton) McCladdie, Appling; adopted brother, Rev. Alfred Hazel, Macon; stepsister, Mrs. Eloise Few; four stepbrothers, Mr. Barney Bennett, Appling, Mr. Sherman Bennett, Mr. John Bennett, Augusta, Mr. L.B. Bennett, Philadelphia, Pa.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Hawes; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2002, at 2 p.m., from Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Appling, Rev. Alexander Ingram officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the residence or the funeral home. The Historic Dents Undertaking Establishment serving the CSRA since the 1800s.
