Mr. Pierce Hardy (THOMSON, Ga.)



THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Pierce L. Hardy, age 80, of Jackson Street, died Friday at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2 p.m., at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Timothy W. Carignan officiating. Mr.Hardy was a native of Columbia County but had made his home in Thomson for many years. He was retired as a carpenter for Wilson Homes. He was a member of Raysville Boat Club, a member of the VFW, and attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Milford, Thomson; his son, Lamar Hardy, Thomson; two susters, Frances Newby, Dearing, Ella Pearl James, Grovetown; three brothers, Willard Hardy, Billy Hardy, both of Thomson, Clay Hardy, Grovetown; two half brothers, Richard Axon, N. C., Carl Axon, Thomson; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special friend, Ellen Kennedy, Thomson. Pallbearers are H.E. Buffington, Sterling Hancock, Larry Chalker, Doug Jobes, Melvin Jobes, Wayne Dupree. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl (June Bug) Hudson. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday.
