Discussion on race presented
Maryl F. Walters of the Christian Science Board in St. Louis and the Rev. Larry Fryer will discuss Finding the Spiritual Foundation of Race Relationships at Lamar Elementary School, 970 Baker Ave., at 2 p.m. today. The event is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist.
'Legend' to make debut in area
Legend, by American composer Charles Callahan of Vermont, will have its Georgia premiere at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds St.
The performance, featuring organist Keith Shafer and harpist Vonda Darr, will include other selections. A reception will cap the event.

Sept. 11 survivor to speak at church
Stanley Praimnath of New York, who credits divine intervention for his escape from the 81st floor of the south tower of the World Trade Centers on Sept. 11, will speak at at 10 a.m. Sunday atGrace Covenant Church of God, 703 North Main St. in New Ellenton.
Mr. Praimnath watched as a plane's wing cut through his office six months ago. After a stranger broke through a wall to rescue him, the two men helped rescue others.
Besides his talk, the congregation will offer a salute to fire and police workers. Grace Covenant also will plant a commemorative oak on its grounds and give dogwoods to the first 500 people who come to the event.
