Busch driver will undergo surgery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Busch Series driver Ricky Hendrick will have surgery on the shoulder he injured in a wreck and is expected to be sidelined for about six weeks.

The son of Hendrick Motorsports founder Rick Hendrick dislocated his right shoulder and damaged ligaments Saturday when his car slid on oil and hit the wall in the Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"Ricky is going to be just fine," the elder Hendrick said. "He's just disappointed about missing races."

During his recovery, Ricky Hendrick will be replaced by Ron Hornaday Jr., a two-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion who also has two victories in Busch competition.
