Mr. Bruce Wingate Sr. (AIKEN, S.C.)



AIKEN, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Bruce A. Wingate Sr., will be held Saturday, March 9, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Montmorenci First Baptist Church with Revs. Gary Youell and Waco Cotney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Wingate, 67, of Toolebeck Road, Aiken, beloved husband of Ruth Campbell Wingate, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was born in Homestead, Fla., to George N. and Ella Bost Wingate. He was a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher. He was the former chief of the Montmorenci Volunteer Fire Department. He was retired from the railroad department. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. Additional survivors include a daughter, Ann-Marie Wingate Beason, Aiken; a son, Bruce A. "Andy" Wingate Jr. Langley; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. A visitation with the family will be Friday, March 8, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
