HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Lester Ray Toliver Sr., E-6 (Retired), 74, of Patiller Road, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at DeLoach Funeral Home chapel, Hephzibah, with Chaplain Yun J. Kim, Captain officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors accorded. Mr. Toliver, a native of Tennessee, retired from the U.S. Army in February 1973, as an E-6 after serving 27 years. He served two tours of dutyduring the Korean Conflict, three tours of duty in Vietnam, and was wounded on the last tour of duty. He also served two tours of duty in Germany. He received two purple hearts. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Jones Toliver, May 19, 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Jeannetta Raylingle, Washington State, Brenda Ann Toliver, Hephzibah; four sons, Rev. Everette Toliver, Smiths, Ala., Lester Ray Toliver, Jr., Augusta, Richard Wayne Toliver, Hephzibah and Kenneth Lee Toliver, Hephzibah; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Military Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday evening at DeLoach Funeral Home, 2546 GA Hwy. 88, Hephzibah, GA. (706) 592-5000.
