The Edgefield County man wanted in connection with Tuesday's armed robbery of a North Augusta credit union surrendered to authorities Wednesday in Augusta, said a North Augusta detective sergeant.
Bruce Charles Easley, 46, of Ridge Road, was arrested on East Boundary in Augusta by North Augusta and Richmond County investigators around 10 a.m. and taken to the Richmond County jail, pending extradition to South Carolina, said Sgt. Joseph Count.
North Augusta police had been searching for Mr. Easley since Tuesday morning when a man entered the SRP Federal Credit Union on West Martintown Road around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with a note and demanded money. He received an undetermined amount of money before leaving, according to North Augusta police.
Sgt. Count declined to say whether police recovered any of the money taken in the robbery.
"We've still got as lot of things to discuss," he said.
