Flyers, Thrashers swap AHL players



PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers have traded Joe DiPenta to the Atlanta Thrashers for center Jarrod Skalde, who will be assigned to the AHL Philadelphia Phantoms.

Skalde, 31, recorded 15 goals and 37 assists for 52 points and 71 penalty minutes in 64 games for the Thrashers' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, this season. He was tied for second on the Wolves in points (52) and was second on the team in assists (37).

DiPenta, 23, recorded six points and 71 penalty minutes in 61 games for the Phantoms this season. DiPenta was signed as a free agent by the Flyers on July 12, 2000. He was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round, 61st overall, of the 1998 NHL entry draft.
