EVANS, Ga.- Miss Mary A. McAllister, 84, of Augusta, entered into rest on Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Westwood Nursing Home, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie McAllister. Graveside services will be held at Westover Memorial park on Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jake Malone officiating. Survivors include her guardian and friend, Gloria W. Rhodes of Martinville, Va. A native of Leesville, S.C., Miss McAllister lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Augusta, and a member Huguenot Society of South Carolina and The First Families of South Carolina. For many years, Miss McAllister was the private legal secretary to the late Joseph E. Cumming at the law firm of Cumming, Nixon, Eve, Waller and Capers. She was an avid reader and loved to travel.
