The SRP Federal Credit Union in North Augusta was robbed this morning when a man entered with a note and demanded money, police said.
The man went into the bank at 403 W. Martintown Road, walked up to a teller and handed her a note that demanded money, said Public Safety Chief Lee Wetherington. The man did not show a gun, but his note stated that he had one.
The man left after receiving an undetermined amount of cash, and he was seen driving away, the chief said. No dye pack or bag was used by the teller, he said.
North Augusta police are being assisted in the investigation by the FBI and Aiken County Sheriff's Office. Fingerprints were being lifted from the note, and video-surveillance images were being analyzed in attempts to identify the man.
The man was described only as a light-skinned black male wearing a blue baseball cap.
