The older I get the more I realize just what a Bob Dylan person I am - and just what a spokesman he was for my generation. I'm proud of that.
I have many of his CDs (although at the time, it was albums or 8-tracks). I seldom listen to them because I've closed that door. But when he comes to town, I can't resist. And I'm rewarded every time I venture into that past.
I sit here and hear his lyrics and I'm thinking,"Yeah, right." I call my kids in to listen and while they're vaguely impressed, I drool. What can I say to a generation without a Dylan? Hey, I'm sorry for you.
