Mr. John Reddick (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. John Wesley Reddick, 58, of Haynie Drive, Augusta, entered into rest Friday, February 22, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Reddick, a native of Sardis who had lived in Augusta since 1973, was the owner and operator of the Historic Richmond Barber Shop on Eighth Street in Augusta. Mr. Reddick began as a barber at the shop in 1973 and purchased it in 1986. He loved being a barber and loved serving his customers. Mr. Reddick was a Baptist and had attended Sardis Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his sister, Sally Mae Pye, Waynesboro; and six brothers, Kermit Reddick, McGregor, Ont., Canada, Cleckley Reddick, J.W. Reddick, Robert G. Reddick, Harvey Lee Reddick and Hubert Reddick, all of Sardis; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be today at 3 p.m., at Sardis Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Karen Zeigler officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Pye, Steve Reddick, Charles Pye, Daniel Pye, David Pye, Joshua Pye and Jonathan Pye.
