Mr. Chester Moody (LANGLEY, S.C.)



LANGLEY, S.C. - Entered into rest on Saturday, February 16, 2002, Mr. Chester W. Moody, husband of Mrs. Mary Minor Moody, Augusta Road, Langley. Surviving are a daughter, Roslyn Combs; a son-in-law, Mike Combs; and a grandson, Bob Combs, all of Evans. He was the stepfather of Frances Storey of Burnettown, Ann Williams of Gloverville, Fay Toole of North Augusta, and Don Richardson of Maggie Valley, N.C. He had 11 stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. Mr. Moody was born in Langley to the late Herbert and Lizzie Beauford Moody. He retired from the J.M Posey and Sons Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Langley with 65 years of service. He was a member of Hillview Baptist Church and its Senior Mens Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Robert Riley and Bennie Burton officiating. Interment in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Parker, Joe Clary, Bob Krepps, Jerry Rucker, Sammy Napier, Johnny Rowland and Ed Hatcher. Honorary pallbearers will be The Senior Mens Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church, 1974 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, S.C. 29829 or Langley Church of God, P.O. Box 797, Langley, S.C. 29834. Friends may call at the residence of Faye Toole, 108 Thomson Ave., North Augusta, S.C. or tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, U.S. Hwy #1, Langley, S.C.
