Since Augusta's existing municipal building will likely become a judicial center, we have an opportunity to make a very important change that will bring more efficient government. New city government facilities should be near the center of Richmond County.
We need to avoid narrow streets, little parking space and do this right.
The old Regency Mall is the place. It is modern, huge, convenient for most residents, near the center of Richmond County and is at an intersection of two major roads. Regency has a huge amount of parking space, room for most offices in one place and room for growth. Why build all of this or go to a less convenient area when Regency is here and now?
