AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at her residence Mrs. Mary G. Williams, 88, of Mauge Street. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin McRae officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. She was a native of Augusta, and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she had served on Senior Choir, Deaconess Board, and Mission, Queenie Cook Mission. She was former owner and operator of Williams Beauty Salon and Williams Grocery Store and Williams Personal Care Home. Survivors are her daughter, Charlie M. Slaughter; son, Tom Kelly Jr.; two granddaughters, Brenda Lee White, devoted granddaughter, Sandra J. Greene; two grandsons, Rodney C. Jason Sr., Carlos Slaughter; son-in-law, Roosevelt Slaughter; four great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; four great-great grandchildren; goddaughter, Dorothy M. Abraham; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
