Mr. Adrian Ramp Sr. (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Adrian Fremont Ramp, Sr., 89, passed away Friday, February 8, 2002, at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2002, at The Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity with the Rev. P. James Costigan and the Rev. Allan J. McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Ramp owned and operated Ramps Food Store, one of the oldest grocery stores on the Hill. He was a veteran of WW II, landed at Omaha Beach and served in numerous tank engagements including The Battle of the Bulge. He served in the 759th Light Tank Battalion under the command of General George Patton. He also retired from Fort Gordon Civil Service. He was a member of Saint Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Survivors include, his wife of 64 years, Rose Axford Ramp; four sons and daughters-in-law, Adrian F. Ramp, Jr. and his Wife, Dee, Michael A. Ramp and his wife, Susan, Philip D. Ramp and his wife, Carolyn, Stephen L. Ramp and his wife, Kathy; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Eugene Ramp. Pallbearers will be Richard Ramp, Jason Ramp, Lyn Ramp, Douglas Ramp, Joshua Ramp, and Steven Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904 and National Kidney Foundation of Georgia, Research Division, 2951 Flowers Road, South,Suite 211, Atlanta, GA 30341 The Holy Rosary will be recited at Platts-Crawford Avenue on Sunday, February 10, 2002 at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following until 9 p.m. Platts Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, 733-3636
