North Georgia Striper Club Open Tournament Feb. 9, Lake Lanier

Angler's Paradise Bass Tournament Dorn Boating and Fishing Complex Feb. 23, Strom Thurmond Lake

Headquarters at Savannah Lakes Resort. Participants must be Angler's Paradise Club members (annual fee $25). Tournament entry fee is $275 for professional bass fishermen and $125 for co-anglers (amateurs) who will fish from pros' boats. First place (guaranteed) 185SV Ranger bass boat. 20th annual Clark Hill Committee and Easter Seals Open Team Tournament May 11 at site to be announced

Guaranteed first place $7,500. Tournament hours 6:30 a.m., to 3 p.m. Late registration at the site starting at 5 a.m. Pre-registration meeting will take place at Augusta Marine Superstore, 1547 Gordon Highway, Augusta 30906, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with the drawing at 7:30. Registration forms may be picked up at Augusta Marine, Easter Seals (on Wrightsboro Road), or Broadway Tackle. Entry fee $30 per person, $60 per team, $5 big fish pot. Palmetto State Team Trail Bass Circuit

Based on a maximum 150-boat field, first place is a fully rigged Triton bass boat, 150-hp Mercury outboard. Second place is $5,000 cash. Payout through 25 places. Boat and six places guaranteed with 75 teams. Tournament hours safe light until 3 p.m. $300 entry fee per team, with a $25 membership fee per person. Tournament hours: Each event begins with a mandatory attendance meeting at 6 a.m., and competition starts after the meeting or at safe light, with weigh-in at 3 p.m. Guaranteed first place (based on minimum of 50 boats) $1,000. The Fisherman's Bass Circuit 2001-2002 schedule

Feb. 23-24, 2002: Lake Keowee, South Cove Park, Seneca, S.C.

Entry fee $550 per team (includes big bass). Six-bass limit per team. Big bass award: $500 daily. First place (payout based on 150 boats): $25,800 ($5,000 cash plus Ranger 518-VX boat, Rangertrail trailer. Second place: $21,800 ($1,000 cash plus Ranger 518-VX boat, Rangertrail trailer. Southern Bass Anglers Invitational Team Series Feb. 2 results from Lake Seminole

Jim Merritt, Bainbridge, Ga., and Brian Key, Bainbridge, five bass, 23 pounds, $2,200. Terry Stevens, Marianna, Fla., and David Johnson, Marianna, five bass, 19.,42 pounds, $1,000. Jeff Creasy, Albany, Ga., and Debra Boughner, Albany, five bass, 19.17 pounds, $850. Todd and Butch Tucker, Moultrie, Ga., five bass, 17.38 pounds, $700. Big fish: The Tuckers, 8.12 pounds, $660. Fifty-two out of the 66 competing teams weighed in 202 bass totaling 526.61 pounds, including 24 five-fish limits.

Augusta Bass Club Feb. 2 results Tony Postell reporting

Jerry Shively, 6.46 pounds. Ed Rice, 4.96 pounds. Joel Carson, 4.76 pounds. Big fish: Harvey Kirkland, 2.64 pounds. Twelve fishermen caught 16 bass and all were released alive.

Evans Bassmasters Jan. 26 results Ron Weber reporting

Mike Guilbeau, four bass, 11 pounds, 8 ounces. Pete Petro, one bass, 2.05 pounds. Windy Jiles, one bass, 2.02 pounds. Big fish: Guilbeau, 5 pounds. Six fishermen caught six bass totaling 15 pounds, 15 ounces, an average weight of 2.2 pounds, and all were released alive.

Saturday Morning Open Team Feb. 2 results Ron Brown reporting

David Smith and Jackie Mimmie, seven bass, 18.17 pounds. Keith Randolph and Robin Burroughs, six bass, 14.82 pounds. Rick and Evan Buller, seven bass, 16.24 pounds. Big fish: Danny Collier and Howard Holcombe, 6 pounds, 10 ounces.

There is a one-time registration fee of $20 per person. Entry fee is $30. Regular tournaments are sponsored by Chuck's Lakeside Marine, Pair of Jacks Inc., Sportsman's Link of Martinez, Rick's Paint & Body of Martinez, White Columns Inn of Thomson and Augusta Marine Superstore, authorized Stratos and Javelin dealer. They will be held every Saturday from safe light until 3 p.m., until further notice out of Little River Marina. Tournaments will not be held when dates conflict with Clark Hill Committee events. Anglers must fish a total of 6 tournaments to qualify for the SMOT Classic, which will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to the first-place team based on 30 boats. Registration for the Classic will be held Feb. 21 at Sportsman's Link off Bobby Jones Expressway next door to Sam's between 6 and 8 p.m. One place will be paid for every 10 additional boats.
