Worth noting: Along with the debut of Vandermeer, acquired Monday from Richmond for Trevor Gillies, forward Bryce Classen makes his home debut for the Lynx. The Thrashers' ninth-round pick in 2000 was assigned from AHL Chicago in early January. ... G Jayme Platt (19-3-0, 2.47 GAA) is 3-0-0 with a .934 save percentage in two starts vs. Augusta. ... Rookie Roger Trudeau (45-22-15-37) has five goals vs. Augusta.

Worth noting: Since falling to 10-10-3 on Nov. 30, the Grrrowl have gone 18-5-2 to take over first in the Southeast Division. They were on a 9-1-0 streak entering Thursday's game vs. South Carolina. ... The Thrashers assigned their second-round pick in 1999, defenseman Luke Sellars, to the Grrrowl on Wednesday. Sellars had two goals, four assists and 87 penalty minutes in 31 games with AHL Chicago.
