Angler's Paradise Bass Tournament Dorn Boating and Fishing Complex Feb. 23, Strom Thurmond Lake

Headquarters at Savannah Lakes Resort. Participants must be Angler's Paradise Club members (annual fee $25). Tournament entry fee is $275 for professional bass fishermen and $125 for co-anglers (amateurs) who will fish from pros' boats. First place (guaranteed) 185SV Ranger bass boat. Jack Brown, Covington, Ga., and Stacey Eaton, Rutledge, Ga., five bass, 14.46 pounds, $1,400. Ben Collier, Milledgeville, Ga., and Jimmy Huynh, Cochran, Ga., five bass, 13.23 pounds, $1,000. Seventy-one of 94 teams weighed in 264 bass toting 450.98 pounds.

There is a one-time registration fee of $20 per person. Entry fee is $30. Regular tournaments are sponsored by Chuck's Lakeside Marine, Pair of Jacks Inc., Sportsman's Link of Martinez, Rick's Paint & Body of Martinez, White Columns Inn of Thomson and Augusta Marine Superstore, authorized Stratos and Javelin dealer. They will be held every Saturday from safe light until 3 p.m., until further notice out of Little River Marina. Tournaments will not be held when dates conflict with Clark Hill Committee events. Anglers must fish a total of 6 tournaments to qualify for the SMOT Classic, which will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to the first-place team based on 30 boats.
