First Sgt. Alfred Brown (HEPHZIBAH, Ga.)



HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, January 20, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, Ret. First Sergeant Alfred E. (Pete) Brown of Rio Ridge Drive, Hephzibah. Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Woodrow Miller officiating. He was a native of Jackson, MS., retired from Army after serving over 20 years; a member of the American Legion; an accomplished golfer, and a member of the Masters City Golf Association of Augusta. Survivors are his wife, Peggy Brown; two daughters, Anette Lacey, Jackson, MS., and Laura Brown, Augusta; two sons, David Smith, Jackson, MS., and Eric Brown, Augusta; six brothers, Herbert Brown, Robert Brown, William Brown, Jimmie Brown, Carl Franklin and Roland Franklin; nine sisters, Lula Brown, Mary Brown, Janet Brown, Barbara Jean Franklin, Barbara Jo Franklin, Cissy Franklin, Mickey Brown, Tania Franklin and Carolyn Franklin; special aunt, Katie Holden, Jackson, MS.; seven grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; in laws, other relatives and friends; seven grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
