Ms. Izetta Steadman (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, January 10, 2002, at Doctors Hospital, Ms. Izetta E. Steadman of Weed Street, Augusta. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 14, 2002, at 2 p.m. from Elim Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Charles Smith Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Summerville Cemetery. Ms. Steadman served as an organist for 51 years at Cumming Grove Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board at Elim Baptist Church for many years. She retired as an educator with the Richmond County Board of Education. She began her teaching career at Weed Street Elementary School and later moved to Floyd Graham Elementary School in Hephzibah. She retired from Levi White Elementary School in 1981 after 45 years of dedicated service. Survivors include her cousins, Moriah (Robert) Colbert, Augusta, Lloyd Dunn, Illnois and Richard Dunn, Augusta; a Godson, William Deontrez Palmer, Hephzibah; an adopted sister and brother, Deacon Isaac and Mrs. Dorothy Jackson Jr., North Augusta; devoted friends, Willie and Claudette Palmer, Hephzibah.
