PEMBROKE, N.C. - T.J. Ott had 21 points and was 5 for 7 from 3-point range as Augusta State defeated UNC Pembroke 80-60 in Peach Belt Conference action Saturday night.
UNC Pembroke women defeated Augusta State 77-74.
The win snaps the Jaguars (8-4, 4-2) two-game losing streak. The Braves (6-8, 2-5) led only once, 2-0 19:39 into the game before Augusta State's offense kicked in. The Jaguars went on a 13-1 run and cruised to 41-34 halftime lead.
Augusta State shot 48.5 percent for the game and led by as much as 21 points in the second half. William Gates scored 11 points and Chris Harriman added 10.
Jennifer Lance recorded a double-double for the Lady Braves, scoring 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
The Lady Jaguars (4-8, 0-6) led 43-42 at the break but shot 32 percent in the second half (9 for 28).
Ginnell Curtis scored 12 of her game-high 23 points in the second half for UNC Pembroke (10-4, 4-3). Despite a 2-for-15 shooting performance, the Lady Braves' Lennetta Bentley pulled down 12 rebounds.
Augusta State returns to action on Monday, when they face Paine College in the City Classic. The women's game is set for 5:30 p.m.
