VACATIONERS: Annie Domenico of Martinez and Desirae Domenico of Atlanta, daughters of Deborah and Jerry Domenico of Martinez.
DESTINATION: The sisters used their life savings and joined a group of Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans for a monthlong tour of 11 European countries.
DATES OF TRIP: June 4-27
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP: Attending a prayer service led by Pope John Paul II and getting a private tour beneath St. Peter's Basilica.
OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST: The Parisian cabaret, a bicycle ride through Switzerland, visiting the casinos in the French Riviera and a gondola ride with their new friends. Jumping into 32-degree water in Austria during a white water rafting expedition provided one of the most shocking moments of the trip.
WORST PART OF THE TRIP: Saying goodbye to all their new friends on the last evening of the tour in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
NEXT TRIP: The sisters are saving their money to do this again next year! In the meantime they're putting photos and souvenirs from their special trip in scrapbooks.
