SFC Hawthorne Harcourt (LINCOLNTON, Ga.)



LINCOLNTON, Ga. - SFC Hawthorne Harcourt, 82, of Drinkard Street, died Monday, December 31, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta. Graveside services with military honors will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Augusta with Rev. Robert C. Rayner officiating. Mr. Harcourt was born in Fulton County. He had lived in Lincolnton for the past 29 years. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harcourt retired after 26 years of service. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Opal S. Harcourt; sons, Raymond Harcourt, Miami, and Bernard Harcourt, Kingsland; stepsons, Paul H. Stevens Jr., Swainsboro and Gary A. Stevens Sr., North Augusta; daughter, Hazel Harcourt; brothers, Navaree Harcourt, Forest Park, Maurice Harcourt, Atlanta, Herbert Harcourt, Conyers, and David Harcourt, Lawrenceville; sisters, Elsie Benton, Hampton, Va., Hazel Alexis, Dacula; Ann Bradford, Bainbridge, Patricia Knight, Savannah; two grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence. Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA. 30817, is in charge of arrangements.
