AUGUSTA, Ga. - Miss Dorothy Carpenter entered into rest Saturday, December 22, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 24, 2001, at St. Mary On the Hill Catholic Church with Father John Hart celebrant. The Holy Rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary On the Hill Catholic Church. Survivors are four sisters, Kathryn C. Brinson, Frances C. Bernhard, Virginia C. Long, all of Augusta, Helen C. Richardson of Conoga Park, California. Additional survivors are one sister-in-law, French Elliott; six nieces, MeLanie Bailey of Augusta, Elizabeth McGee of Pensacola, Fla., Caroline May, Wrens, Ginger Goodwin of Augusta, Teresa OBrien of Louisville, Ky., Mary Teresa Richardson, Phoenix, Arizona; seven nephews, George Carpenter of North Augusta, S.C., Erik Bernhard of Atlanta, Larry Long, Jacksonville, Fla., Ronnie Long, Houston, Texas, John Long, Greenville, S.C., Jimmy Richardson, Conoga Park, Calif., David Neal, Orlando, Fla. Miss Carpenter was predeceased by a brother, Jack Carpenter. Miss Dorothy Carpenter was born in Wrens and was a retired laboratory technician at St. Joseph Hospital and a member of St. Mary On the Hill Catholic Church. She enjoyed her participation in the Rosary and the Adoration in the Chapel. The nephews will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church following the Rosary.
