AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at the Doctors Hospital, Mr. Jerome Heyward of Driftwood Drive. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 17, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Williams Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Canon Lewis P. Bohler Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Garden. He was a native of Paris Island, S.C. He retired from the New York Transit Authority as a bus driver. Survivors are his wife, Eleanor A. Heyward; daughter, Marie-Ellen Gibbs, Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Elizabeth Thompson, Cassie Worthy, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Christopher Gibbs, Hanover, Md., Jill Gibbs, Charlotte, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Gibbs and JNae Young; aunt, Grace McIlvain, Orange, N.J. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., tonight at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
