HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Eva Glisson Barefield, 84, of Cougar Drive, Hephzibah, entered into rest Friday, December 14, 2001, at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, with the Rev. Charles Peters and Reverend Albert Stroup officiating. Entombment will be in Burke County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Waynesboro. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, J.L. and Jackie Glisson, Robert F. and Phoebe Glisson; one sister, Frances Turner; six grandchildren, Rolene Rowell, Bobby Glisson Jr., Cheryl Stewart, Bill Glisson, Elaine Glisson and Jay Glisson; and eight great-grandchildren. Additional survivors are several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Barefield was a retired nurse from Gracewood Hospital. She was also a member of South Haven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road. Active pallbearers will be Bill Glisson, Bobby Glisson Jr., Jay Glisson, Chris Stewart, Ray Clellan, Dustin Rowell, Churck Cadle. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Haven Baptist Church, 4391 Peach Orchard Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road.
