Mrs. Bernice Johnson



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Bernice M. Johnson, 85, wife of the late Ralph L. Johnson, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2001, at the Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2001, at Snows Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry Street, Macon, with Rev. Frank Harris and Rev. Rex Odum officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Macon, Ga. Mrs. Johnson, a native of Macon, lived in the Augusta area for the past year where she attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Bass United Methodist Church, Macon, and of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She served in various capacities on the Official Board and as president of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, David Lamar Johnson, Marietta; her two daughters, Gloria Johnson Stocks, Augusta and Carol Johnson Tucker, Riverdale, Iowa; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Mrs. Ralph W. Maddox, Eastman, Ga. and Mrs. Eugene Welch, Buckhead. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bass United Methodist Church, 4062 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31210.
