AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest December 11, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Augusta, Mr. Everett W. Shamblin, 81, of Augusta, formerly of Mount Zion, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2001, at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, W. Va. with the Rev. Dewey Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Nebo, W. Va. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Buckley and Mrs. Christine Smith both of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Brenda Stump, Nebo, W. Va.; four brothers, Bill Shamblin of Uniontown, Ohio, Ralph Shamblin of Akron, Ohio, Larry Shamblin of California and Roscoe Friend of Evergreen, W. Va.; seven sisters, Nora Pascarella of Pompano Beach, Fla., Gladys Boyer and Audrey Schlagenhauser both of Akron, Ohio, Tille Knight and Ruth Stagg both of Augusta, Anna Mae Moore and Oleta Friend both of Deepwater, W. Va. Born in Ivydale. Clay County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Willie and Stalla Jane Jarvis Shamblin. He was a former employee of Goodyear Aircraft of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Shamblin was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II, having served in the Philippine Islands and South Korea. He was a 32 nd degree Mason was a life member of American Legion Post #21 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Spencer, W. Va.
