NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Graveside services for Mrs. Ethelyn Gantt Mathis, 98, of North Augusta, who died December 5, 2001, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 a.m., in the Robertson Family Cemetery, Plum Branch, Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley and Dr. Samuel George officiating. Mrs. Mathis was a native of Pickens, a former resident of Plum Branch, having made North Augusta her home for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Plum Branch and a homemaker. Mrs. Mathis was the wife of the late Mr. Joe Mays Robertson, Mr. James M. Strother and Mr. D.T. Mathis and mother of the late Mrs. Mary Heath Robertson Shaw. Survivors include three grandchildren, Dale R. Shaw, Indialantic, Fla., Jerrie Shaw Hixon, Pickens and Alan Shaw, Melbourne Beach, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, George S. Shaw, Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Jack Gantt, Pickens; four step-sons, Rev. Robert Strother, Spartanburg, Duane Strother, Graniteville, Hugh Strother, Barnwell and Fred Mathis, North Augusta; two step-daughters, Norma Pate, North Augusta and Willie Jo Pinner, Black Mountain, N.C.
