TOLEDO, Ohio - A man who allegedly stole his grandmother's car less than two hours after he was released from prison and then robbed a bank was indicted by a grand jury.
David Dearing, 30, was indicted Tuesday on one count each of grand theft, aggravated robbery and robbery. He is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Police said Dearing robbed a bank on Nov. 26, the day after he was released from the Lima Correctional Institution. He served a three-year sentence for robbing a Toledo bank in 1998.
Dearing and his grandmother had stopped at a restaurant in Springfield Township on their way home from the prison. Dearing allegedly took the car when his grandmother went to buy food.
